Wari Club became champions in the Popular Life Insurance Dhaka Metropolis Open Women’s Volleyball Competition beating Shahbagh Sporting Club by 3-1 sets in the final at Volleyball Stadium on Tuesday.
Earlier, Sparkling Andromeda Club finished third defeating Dhaka University by 2-0 sets in a place-deciding match at the same venue on the same day.
After the final match, General Secretary of Bangladesh Archery Federation and Treasurer of Bangladesh Olympic Association Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Senior Executive Director of Popular Life Insurance Company Limited Alamgir Feroz, General Secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) and Deputy-Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Vice-Presidents of BVF Tabiur Rahman, Mostafa Kamal, General Secretary of Bangladesh Swimming Federation MB Saif, General Secretary of Pabna District Sports Association Reazul Karim Badshah and Secretary of Women’s Volleyball Committee Nibedita Das were present at the time.
Chairperson of Women’s Volleyball Committee and Police Super (CID) Syeda Jannat Ara presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
