‘War weapons display to boost military-civilian ties’

Armed forces believe that ongoing war weapons display by Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air force in the capital will further increase the military-civilian relations.
“We have organised the display to portrait armed forces’ glorious history, contribution to building the country and the nation, role in UN peacekeeping missions and modernization before the common people,” Colonel Abdullah Al Mamun of the Civil- Military Relations Directorate of the Armed Forces told journalists at a press briefing at the National Parade ground here on Tuesday.
On March 22, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the combined Warfare Display at the National Parade ground marking the Great Independence and National Day. The display will continue till March 31.
Army, navy and air force displayed their war weapons in 34 stalls. Of the stalls, 21 for army, 6 for navy, 6 for air force and 1 for BNCC .
Colonel Mamun said from display people of all walks of life can get a practical idea about various war weapons, gears and artillery of Bangladesh army, navy and air force. “Another objective of the exhibition is to attract courageous and talented young to join the armed forces,” he said.
At the display, armed forces personnel are describing to common people about various functions of weapon and their uses in the battle ground.
