War crimes accused Lutfor dies at DMCH

Another war crimes accused died under treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday morning.
Lutfor Rahman Morol, 75, passed away around 8:30am, said Dhaka Central Jail’s Senior Superintendent Md Jahangir Kabir.
Lutfor was arrested in September 2015 from Porochakra village under Jessore district’s Keshobpur upazila in an war crimes case.
He was admitted to the DMCH on April 4 for treatment, Kabir said.
On September 8 last year, the International Crimes Tribunal took cognizance of the charges of crimes against humanity committed during the war for independence of Bangladesh.
The charges included murder, abduction, rape and arson.
Previously war crimes accused Emdadul Haque from Brahmanbaria died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to old age complications on January 26.
The second one to follow Emdad was Jamaat-e-Islami leader AKM Yusuf. He died of cardiac arrest at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on February 9 in 2014.
