Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
His full name is Hafizur Rahman. But he is known as Himel Hafiz. He is hailed from Nalfatua village of Moheshpur area in Jhenidah. Now he is a resident of Dhaka city. He has already become a popular face in our theatre arena. Within very short time he has become a busy actor. He is also acting in TV plays regularly. Besides TV plays, he has been also acting in movies. His acted first movie was Noman Robin’s Common Gender. In last Eid, his acted and Shahin Sumon directed movie Love Marriage was released.
But Himel Hafiz is very much optimistic about Rawshan Ara Nipa’s government-grant movie Mohua Sundori. In this film, besides acting in role of an anti-hero, Himel Hafiz also played as a serious comedian.
Since 1998 Himel Hafiz has been attached with theatre group, Loko Nattyadal. By this group he performed in plays Toposshi O Torongini, Padma Nodir Majhi, Sonai Madhob, Konjush, etc.
In the small screen, he first appeared on the screen by Fakhrul Hasan Boiragi’s drama serial Tin Tekka, which was aired on ATN Bangla. Later, he acted in faction play Sukh Somachar under Emdadul Karim’s direction. In 2013, before 20 days of his marriage he first performed as a model in a TV commercial of GrameenPhone’s Aamra Aamrai package under the direction of Sharaf Ahmed Jibon. After telecasting the TVC Himel came into limelight as a model.
But as an actor, Himel Hafiz’s turning point was Jewel Mahmud’s popular mega serial Lolita, which was aired on ETV.
While talking about his career in media Himel Hafiz told this correspondent, “I want to continue acting till my last breathe. As an actor, I am very small person but who gave me opportunity to perform in their works for my performances I am really grateful to them.”
