The Walton Victory Day Wrestling (Men’s & Women’s) Competition began at the Gymnasium of National Sports Council on Thursday. First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurated the two-day long wrestling meet as the chief guest while Senior Assistant Director of Walton Rajibul Anam was with him as the special guest.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation (BAWF) Tabiur Rahman Palowan, Joint-Secretary of BAWF Mejbah Uddin Azad and General Secretary of Bangladesh Bodybuilding Federation Nazrul Islam were present at the time.
A total of 128 wrestlers (64 men& 64 women) from four teams are taking part in the wrestling competition. The four teams are: Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar.
The weight categories for Men’s Division are: 55 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97 kg and 125 kg.
The weight categories for Women’s Division are: 48 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 58 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 69 kg and 75 kg.
