The country’s electronics giant Walton has taken initiative of manufacturing various sorts of medical equipment, including oxygen ventilation equipment, at its own factory to reduce the supply crunch of the equipment for providing treatment to the coronavirus infected people.
The local brand will start the production of essential medical equipment from the first week of April.
In an online press conference on Monday, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Walton in association with the world famous medical equipment manufacturing company ‘Medtronic’ has moved ahead to produce ventilator. He hoped that the equipment would be manufactured in country very soon.
Dwelling on this initiative, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited Executive Director Engineer Golam Murshed said that Ventilator is a very essential medical item for the treatment of COVID-19 infected patients.
Walton always gives priority to the demands and necessity of the domestic people, saying it he added that thus, Walton is working to produce live saving medical equipment like ventilator, power air purifier respiratory, oxygen concentrator, UV disinfectant, safety goggles, protective shield, respiratory mask etc.
At present, Walton is working on the design and product’s research and development of these medical equipment. Although Walton factory and its other offices are closed, more than 50 engineers are engaged in manufacturing these essential medical instruments to provide quick treatment to the coronavirus affected.
