Walton, the country’s leading electronics, electrical and automobile manufacturing company, is set to export various machineries, parts and raw materials for technology-based industry.
Walton took wide-range of initiatives to produce the parts and raw materials for exporting in foreign countries after meeting its demands in Bangladesh.
Walton, a venture of RB group, is producing different products like refrigerator, TV, air conditioner, motorcycle and automobile.
Engineer Ashraful Ambia, the operative director (Sourcing Engineer) of Walton, said these initiatives would be a milestone in terms of advancement of the country’s industry.
“The country’s entrepreneurs are highly dependent on foreign source for raw materials, as a result, production price goes up,” Engineer Ashraful Ambia added.
“For these, if we can produce the raw materials here in our country, we would be able to save a huge number of foreign currency as well as the price of the products will be reduced,” the operative director said adding that it will help develop technical skills of local expert and workers.
He also said, as the labour cost in Bangladesh is comparatively low and Walton’s initiatives are based on labour, so there is a bright future in making the machineries and raw materials in the country.
The engineers concerned, in this regard, also said that the making of custing plant works was continuing in full swing in the Walton factories in which the parts and raw materials will be made in combination with steel, copper and aluminum.
On the other hand, the Walton is producing Polyol which is used in making insulation inside the refrigerator.
Setting-up plant for making Polyol is going on which is expected to launch within next one month and it will be the country’s first Polyol making plant.
This raw material is set to supply to the flexible foam industry that is used in producing mattress, foam, sofa, and bed etc.
Moreover, the hot melt glue plant is also being set up which is used for ceiling in the refrigerator and it is hugely used in the furniture industry while it is being used in packaging factories and for making diaper as well.
Meanwhile, hard and soft, the two types of chemical will also be prepared in the PVC compounding plant which is needed in PVC (plastic) compounding process while Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) is expected to be produced that is a highly valued gum used in the adhesive industry.
The Walton’s next projects are master batch and base Polyol plant.
The master batch is generally used in producing highly qualified plastic products; on the other hand, the base Polyol is one kind of primary raw materials which is recognized as high technology-based advanced raw materials.
Besides, many more things are being produced in the Walton’s parts components project including drawer, filter, accumulator, different kinds of switch, connector, logo, evaporator, condenser, plastic sheet, rubber magnet, packing belt, lock and key, hings, electronic control system and LED light while the zinc coded steel tube, all kinds of screws and paper making plant will be produced in the next project of parts components.
