The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ has been honoured with Hi-Tech Industries Award by the Ministry of Industries at the just concluded ‘National Industrial Fair 2019, first of its kind held from April 1 to 6 at the premises of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital, says a press release.
Under the category of Hi-Tech Industries Award, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited received the first prize at the closing and prize giving ceremony of the fair at the BICC’s Media Hall on Saturday last (April 6).
Walton’s Executive Director Md. Alamgir Alam Sarker took over crest and certificate of the award from the function’s chief guest Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and special guest State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder.
Bangladesh Chamber of Industries President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury also attended the function as special guest while Industries Secretary Md. Abdul Halim was in the chair.
At the prize giving ceremony, Industries Ministry awarded total of 24 local companies, including Walton, under the eight industrial categories those were Hi-Tech, Large, Medium, Small, Micro, Handicrafts and Crafts, Cottage and Boiler Industries.
Along with Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, two more companies named ‘Idea 3D Solution’ and ‘Fair Electronics Limited’ received the second and the third prize respectively under the category of Hi-Tech Industries Award.
Speaking at the function, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, the Ministry of Industries organised the National Industrial Fair for the first-time in Bangladesh aimed at helping the local entrepreneurs marketing and spreading of their products in the local market.
