The Walton Oriental 1st Wrestling Championship starts today at the Paltan Maidan.
Head of Sports and Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation (BAWF) Tabiur Rahman, Joint-Secretary of BAWF Mesbha Uddin Azad will be present at the inaugural ceremony.
Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation (BAWF) has organized the wrestling meet, while Walton Group is the sponsor of the competition.
The budget of the tournament is Taka two lakh and Walton Group has given the total money to BAWF.
The participating teams are: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar & VDP.
The competition of the Men’s Division will be held in eight weight categories and the championship of the Women’s Division will be held in eight weight categories.
The two-day long wrestling competition will come to an end tomorrow.
Secretary of National Sports Council Ashok Kumar Biswas will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest tomorrow.
