The day-long Walton Notre Dame Chess Championship was held at Notre Dame College on Saturday. Notre Dame College Chess Club arranged the chess competition with the cooperation of Golden Sporting Club and under auspices of Walton.
A total of 200 participants took part in the chess meet.
First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurated the chess competition as the chief guest while International Woman Master Rani Hamid, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Gazi Shayiful Tarique were with him as special guests. President of Golden Sporting Club Amir Ali Rana was also present.
Director of Guidance of Notre Dame College Father Anthony Sushanta Gomes CSC presided over the inaugural ceremony.
