Country’s leading Electronics Company Walton named as the title sponsor of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) that began on Friday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sales and marketing committee chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed announced Walton as the title sponsor in a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Now DPDCL will be known as the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
Kazi Inam informed to press that the amount of the sponsorship much higher than previous time, but did not disclosed the amount.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Younus said, “DPDCL is very important for us as it produced many players for the country and we should give more importance this tournament.”
Jalal hoped that Bangladesh will get some players for this edition tournament. He also informed that Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) could not handed over the DPDCL champions trophies from 2008 and CCDM will arrange a programme after this tournament to hand over all the trophies.
Walton executive director (Policy & HRM) HM Zahid Hasan informed that they extend their hand as the sponsors in for the one-day format List-A cricket tournament for the 4th consecutive times as they believe that the tournament produced national and international level cricketers in the past and will be in future.
Zahid Hasan assured that Walton is ready to provide all-out supports to give international flavor for DPDCL, if BCB allow.
We introduced boundary rope for the first time for DPDCL and will add giant screen and 3D pitch mat.
Walton operative director (Creative and Publication) Uday Hakim and deputy director Firoj Alam also spoke in the press conference.
