She made the statement while visiting Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd at Chandra on Saturday (July 6, 2019). Her visit was marked to observe the progress of the HFC Phase Out project at Walton factory which is being implemented jointly by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Walton under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Under the one-year project, the environment-friendly HC-600a (Isobutane) refrigerant is being used in Walton factory and service centers instead of high global warming HFC-134a refrigerant. The Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program associates the project.
‘Bangladesh is the country that already seeing the effects of climate changes. It has huge populations. And the middle class in increasing. So the refrigerator and air conditioner market will increase more.
