Local electronic brand Walton has been manufacturing good quality and eco-friendly products, said Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin on Saturday.
“If some more industries like Walton are established in Bangladesh, no one can hinder the country’s economic progress,” the minister said while visiting Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (WHIL) at Chandra in Gazipur.
Shahab Uddin also said Walton is contributing to the national economy through earning foreign currencies by exporting locally made goods to different countries after meeting the domestic demands.
During his visit to WHIL, Environment Forest and Climate Change Ministry’s Secretary Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury, Internal Resources Division’s Deputy Secretary Sultana Afrose, Environment Division’s Director General Dr. AKM Rafique Ahammed, Director Md Ziaul Haque and Additional Secretary Dr SM Manjurul Hannan Khan, BSTI Director General Muazzem Hossain, were present.
