Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (WHIL), a sister concern of the country’s electronics giant Walton Group, has been honoured with the ‘HSBC Export Excellence Award 2018’. Walton received the award in the category of ‘Excellence in Import Substitution’ for reducing or substituting imports to a value of US$10 million or more, says a media release.
Attending the function as the chief guest, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed handed over the award to SM Shamsul Alam, Vice-Chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Saturday (September 22) while Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir was present as special guest.
The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) award takes into consideration the companies’ corporate social responsibility practices, regulatory compliance, sustainable business practices, commitment and contribution to the local economy.
