Walton Cricketers bagged second consecutive win in Chiang Mai Six-a-Side International Cricket tournament in Thailand. Walton Cricketers, who represent defending champions Bangladesh, beat Devine Felons of Australia by 20 runs on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday, the Walton Cricketers thrashed Ireland by 45 runs in the tournament opener.
Winning toss against Devine Felons, Walton Cricketers chose to bat first and put a huge total of 83 runs without any loss of wicket in 5 overs.
Elias Sunny smashed 35 runs while Meherab Hossain Josse scored 31 runs.
In replay, Devine Felons managed to score 63 runs for one wicket.
Defending champions Bangladesh retained titles of the tournament for two consecutive years. The country participated eight times in the tournament that has been being held for 27 years and bagged titles for four times.
Walton, the country’s leading electric, electronics and automobile products manufacturing and marketing company, is sponsoring the Bangladesh team.
Walton Cricketers are eyeing the hat-trick title.
Khaled Mahmud Sujon, former captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team and one of the directors of BCB, is leading the Walton Cricketers.
The other members of the team are Elias Sunny, Rubiayat Haque, Meherab Hossain Josse, Ariful Hassan Sabuj, Mehedi Hassan Siddique Maruf and Minhaz Ahmed.
The final of the tournament will be held on April 5.
