The Walton 2nd National Women’s Baseball Competition begins tomorrow at the Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city’s Dhanmondi.
Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association will organize the baseball tournament under auspices of Walton Group.
To mark the upcoming baseball competition, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association Aminul Islam Liton, Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Vice-President of the Association and Deputy-Commissioner of DMP ABM Masud Hossain were present at the conference.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the ensuing baseball meet.
Bangladesh Ansar, Khulna Division team, Rangpur Division team, Dhaka Division team have been billed in Group-A, while Bangladesh Police, Mymensingh Division team, Chattogram Division team, Rajshani Division team have been placed in Group-B.
Top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals on Saturday. The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on Sunday (July 29).
