BNP’s mayor candidate in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election, Tabith Awal, has said, it is time to watch the performance of the Election Commission (EC).
He said this in an election campaign at Ashkona Hajj Camp in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Tabith said, “The EC sought 48 hours and formed a probe body to look into Tuesday’s attack as it was carried out during our election campaign.”
“We have informed the EC and are now waiting to see what steps it takes,” Tabith said.
He claimed that some of his workers were injured in an attack during their campaign on Tuesday morning at Bajarpara in Gabtoli. Tabith accused supporters of ruling Awami League for the attack.
“The ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ will come out victorious if people can cast their votes.”
BNP Organising Secretary Shyama Obaid, Jubo Dal President Saiful Alam Nirob and Jubo Dal (north) President SM Jahangir Hossain were, among others, present there.
