A celebrated person of Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh district named Alhaj M.A. Wahed has been trying since last two decades for development and to create well planned society with the fund of Zakat and donation. Out of his initiatives education grant for poor and meritorious students, reading room establishment for very poor students, scholarship for students of class IV in all schools of 12 unions in two upazilas, building cemented and sami cemented class rooms, building tin-shed house for homeless families, paying money for performance of Hajj for the poor religious persons including Imams and Muajjins of mosques, and total arrangement of sending abroad the poor youths of his locality. This year also he contributed in making house for 60 homeless families, as well as he has managed all expenditure of performing Hajj for three poor religious persons.
It is learnt from the inhabitants of Angarpore Angargara village of Bhaluka upazila M.A. Wahed went to Papua New Guinea in 1988 after completion of his education in the country. There he was engaged in teaching profession. Side by side he established a few business house there. Now he is a wealthy man and devoted to help the down- troddean families in his locality by eradicating poverty.
