The fourth phase of elections in 55 municipalities across the country has started this morning. The voting started at 8:00 am and will continue till 4:00 pm.
Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Humayun Kabir Khandaker confirmed this. “We have taken all necessary steps to ensure free, fair, and credible elections,” he said.
A total of 217 mayoral candidates, 618 women councilors,s and 2070 general councilor contenders are in the race.
There are a total of 832,428 voters
Voting is being held using EVMs in 29 municipalities while traditional ballot papers in 26 municipalities.
