The registration of voter list updating programme-2022 has began in Sadar upazila of the district on Frday.
Earlier, information of the voters has been collected through enumerators, who went door-to-door to collect information on prospective voters.
Registration of voter list began at 10 am this morning at Collectorate Public School and College in Sadar upazila. People in the area are giving fingerprints and taking pictures for voter list updating process and the activities are going on at six booths in the registration center.
Representatives of the local people are cooperating in this activity of the election office.
BSS from Rajshahi adds : Registration programme of new voters to mark the updating of voters list 2022 began in the district, including its metropolis on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Jalil accompanied by Regional Election Officer Saiful Islam formally launched the programme at Hosseniganj Boys Government Primary School under Boalia Thana in the city this morning. Speaking on the occasion, DC Abdul Jalil said updating work of the voter list began today ahead of the next Parliamentary Election.
