Staff Reporter :
The BNP on Saturday alleged that the fourth phase of the UP polls held yesterday across the country were full of vote robbery spree.
“The ruling party men occupied all vote centers, expelled the BNP polling agents by force and filled the ballot boxes with ballot papers before the voting started. It was nothing but spree of vote robbery,” said Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP.
He told this to the reporters at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the capital city.
The BNP leader said, the vote rigging and violation of electoral laws were similar to first, second and third phases of UP polls.
“The administrations and Election Commission in different districts did nothing when BNP candidates and leaders drew their attentions towards vote rigging by Awami League men,” alleged Rizvi adding that the administrations helped the ruling party men in this regard.
“The EC did nothing but destroyed the hole election system of our country. They totally failed to do their duty,” said Rizvi. “Elections in Rajshahi, Narsingdi, Faridpur, Comilla, Chandpur,
Gazipur, Shariatpur, Jhenaidah, Magura and other districts witnessed EC’s dismal performance. The Awami League men openly sealed on boat symbol,” he alleged.
The party Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Harunur Rashid, central leader Shama Obayed, Abdus Salam, Abdus Salam Azad and Abed Raja, among others, were also present in the briefing.
