Voice call access to Nat’l Info Portal

Aiming to ensure easy access and cover all people, voice call facility is going to be incorporated in the National Information Portal.
With the new facility, citizens will be able to access all information available on the portal using mobile phone.
Access to Information (a2i) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) struck a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with cellular phone operator Robi to introduce the service.
PMO Director General and a2i Project Director Kabir Bin Anwar and Robi’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Matiul Islam Nowshad signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations in the presence of State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim at her secretariat office this noon.
Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Faizur Rahman Chowdhury and Acting Secretary (Coordination and Reform), Cabinet Division, N M Ziaul Alam were also present at the signing ceremony.
The MoU made way for a2i and Robi to jointly work to set up of a National Contact Centre (NCC).
Any citizen using mobile connection from any of the mobile phone operators’ will be able to access information from the NCC through voice call, SMS, IVR, social media and email.
