AFP, London :
British telecoms giant Vodafone agreed Friday to sell its Dutch fixed-line business Vodafone Thuis to Germany’s T-Mobile, but did not give a price.
The London-listed firm had pledged to sell the unit in February, in order to win European Commission approval for the merger of Vodafone Netherlands with Liberty Global’s Dutch division Ziggo.
“Vodafone Group Plc confirms that Vodafone Netherlands has agreed to sell its consumer fixed business, Vodafone Thuis, to T-Mobile Netherlands Holding for an undisclosed sum,” it said in a brief statement.
Vodafone Thuis has approximately 150,000 consumer fixed broadband customers.
The transaction is expected to close in December 2016.
Britain’s Vodafone is second only to China Mobile in terms of subscriber numbers.
