Need-based vocational training on various trades, including handcrafts, and proving necessary inputs and assistances can make the physically challenged people self-reliant through income generation activities.
Speakers said this at the concluding ceremony of a week-long training course for the disabled people on ‘Multipurpose Capacity Building on Jute Products’ at Prottyasha Protibondhi Nari O Shishu Unnayan Sangstha (PPNOSUS) office here on Sunday.
Rangdhanu Zila Protibondhi Adhikar Sangstha (RZPAS) and PPNOUS jointly organised the course under financial assistance of Multipurpose Jute Industries Entrepreneurs’ Service Centre of Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) under the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
A total of 20 physically challenged male and female persons from all over eight upazilas in the district participated in the training course for enhancing their capacity and skill in producing jute-made handicrafts from July 14 to 20.
