The vitamin of rice is reducing at least 15 to 90 per cent due to over machinery processing by the millers, according to a research of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of Masafi Bread and Biscuit Industries Ltd. revealed the information while addressing a press conference in the city.
Masafi Bread and Biscuit Industries Ltd. is playing a vital role to produce best standard rice by the assistance of FAO and the Government of Netherlands, said the chairman.
Senior Advisor of Masafi Bread and Biscuit Industries presented a keynote paper. “We want to ensure quality rice for the betterment public health of the country and we are working on the issue”, he said.
Food Minister Md Qamrul Islam will inaugurate ‘Vita Rice’ on January 2 next year at city’s CIRDAP auditorium.
Masafi Bread and Biscuit Industries Ltd. Director Saful Huda Satil, Scientists Dr. Taherul Islam Khan and Dr. Abdus Sattar were present at the press conference.
