The national vitamin’A’plus begins across in the country aiming to feed vitamin A plus capsules to Children aged between 6 and 59 months..
The campaign will continue antill October 17. Health workers involved in the campaign were given surgical masks and they will have to follow all hygiene rules to stay safe from Virus.
Institute of Public Health Nutrition and Department of National Nutrition services under the Ministry of Health and Family welfare have implemented the programe where at least 5.33 lakh children of 6 to 11 month- old and 12 to 59 month-old were feed Vitamin A plus capsules in 13 upazilas,8 municipalities of Kishoreganj.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury inugurating the programe at Kishoreganj General Hospital while Civil Surgeon ( CS) Dr.Mujibur Rahman presided over.
Police Super (SP) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM -Bar , Deputy Director of Family welfare Enamur Rahman were attended as special guest.
Deputy Civil Surgeon (DCS) Dr.Mostafizur Rahman,BMA district General Secretary and Assistant Professor Dr.Abdul Wahab Badal,CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Former Kishoreganj Press Club President A.K Nasim Khan and others dignified officials were also present.
Civil Surgeon Dr.Mujibur Rahman told the New Nation that the campaign was carried out 2774 centers in Kishoreganj district.
The feeding of vitamin A capsule not only keep the children- safe from night blindness,it also increases their immune system.keep their eyesight perfect, bring down the child morality rate and ensure their normal growth, added C.S .
