In order to reduce the risk of death and prevent blindness, campaign to feeding the vitamin A capsules to children started on Sunday in Rangpur. City Mayor Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa inaugurated the program at Jummapara Club in the city on Sunday morning. On the occasion Divisional Health Director Sultan Ahmed, City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Ruhul Amin Mia, Councillor Sekendar Ali, City Corporation Chief Health Officer Dr Kamruzzaman Taj and others were percent. Rangpur City Mayor Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa said if the present children can grow up healthy and strong, they will be able to present a beautiful country in the future.
This requires providing them with nutritious food, educating them well, creating an environment for them to grow up in a pollution-free environment. This demands the united efforts of city dwellers including city corporations and government offices. We want the children of today to grow up and lead the country in the future and work to build a happy and prosperous country.
Under the Vitamin A Plus Campaign, 39,408 children aged 6 months to 11 months will be given blue and 3 lakh 19,465 children aged 12 to 59 months will be given red vitamin A capsules in 1,844 centers of the district from October 4 to October 19. For this, 3,006 volunteers, 463 health workers and 420 family planning workers are employed in the district.
