Ekushey Mela: Visits by book lovers mark increase

Ekushey Boi Mela got a fresh momentum on Monday as the visits by more book lovers recorded significant increase and 140 new books hit the stalls. Of them, seven were unveiled the same day.
Of the new books, 22 are storybooks, 20 novels, six essay books, 44 poems, seven on research, three on children literature, two on Liberation War, two on drama, one on history, four on travel, one on translation and 30 on other subjects.
The new books that arrived at the Boi Mela on Monday are: Agerkar Mela Kotha by Md Shahjahan Miah, Kamona Konnya by Sheikh Waliuz Zaman, Madhoba by Rabindra Gope, Parijat by Shahid Imam, Badhu Baran by Umme Habiba, Prem Eshechhilo by Hasan Wahid, Bhasha Andoloner Adiparba by Abdul Haque, Nil Jonakir Alpin by Onu Rahman, Moha Maya by Salim Uddin, Panch Miniter Galpo by Khashruzzaman Chowdhury, Mago Tor Choron Tole by Anwara Khanam, Jagotik Chetonar Bichitro Proshun by Ahmad Sharif, Nij Kothai Loko Kothai Humayun Azad by Anupsadi, Muktijuddhe Nirbachito Kishore Golpa by  
Shah Newaj Chowdhury, Bichitro by Saiyan Islam, Path-hara Pakhi by Dr Mozaffar Hossain, Sat Sagorer Opar Theke by Shahid Imam, Hablur Eider Jama by Rana Jaman, Sonamonider Romya Golpo by Bin Arfan and Aparannher Songlap by Zinat Rahman.
A discussion on “Parichad Mitrer Dishototomo Jonmosotobarsha” was held in the main podium of the Bangla Academy.
Professor Khandoker Sirazul Haque presided over the function while Professor Biswajit Ghosh presented the keynote paper. Morshed Shafiul Hasan and Md Azam discussed there. A fascinating cultural festival was held in the evening.
The discussion on “Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islamer Nabbaitomo Jonmobarsha” will be held in the main podium of the Bangla Academy today (Tuesday).
Ajoy Ray will preside over the function while Professor Syed Anwar Hossain will present a keynote paper.
Dr Md Samad, Professor Md Selim and Professor M Wahiduzzaman will join the discussion.
