The British Council Bangladesh has launched the Charles Wallace Trust Professional Visit Program (CWTPVP) 2016 in Bangladesh. The programme will assist mid-career professionals who wish to undertake short visits to the United Kingdom to broaden their professional knowledge, skills, and contacts, says a press release.
The core purpose of the programme is to facilitate professional familiarisation and interaction of participants through study and research. The three to five-week visit may take the form of an attachment of successful applicants or awardees to a university department, professional institution, or arts center in the UK.
Award holders will receive a grant of GBP 1,400 every month, a contribution of maximum GBP 800 for international travel costs, and health insurance for the duration of visit in the UK. Award holders must make all necessary arrangements in the UK through consultation with their host institution. Eligible disciplines for the CWTPVP program include arts, humanities, and creative industries; environment and climate change; education and skills development (both life and technical skills for economic empowerment); and social development including youth mobilisation, community development and social enterprise.

Completed forms should be emailed to [email protected] accompanied with the offer letter and a Curriculum Vitae. Candidates should put the code ‘CW1617’ in the subject line of the e-mail while mailing the application.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising of representatives from the British Council. All interviews will be held in Dhaka and completed within a month from the application submission deadline. The British Council will also provide visa support letter and guidance for UK visa application, reimburse support letter and disburse the award grant to the applicants. The last date for application submission is 16 April 2016.
