Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said it’s really a challenge for the BNP to regain the public confidence what it lost over the years.
BNP has floated the ‘Vision-2030’ of BNP aimed at regaining the public confidence, she said in the parliament.
Replying to a question from Fazilatun Nesa Bappi, a female member in reserve seats, the Prime Minister said the Vision 2030 is sarcastic as BNP doesn’t believe in any long-term development plan.
“BNP always preferred plans on ad-hoc basis to run the country which never focused on more than 2/3 years,” she said adding, BNP ruled the country for many years but they even had no five-year plan.
Most of the development goals targeted in the Vision 2030 would be accomplished by Awami League government much ahead of the time, she said adding that Vision 2030 is really a reproduction of Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 of Awami League.
Sheikh Hasina said BNP could give nothing to the people when the party was in power except pushing the country towards destruction. So what kind of hopeful message they would give to the people, she asked?
Before coming to the people with any assurance, the Prime Minister said, BNP must seek apology for their cruelty, killing of innocent people and destruction they unlashed in the name of politics.
