Bangladesh saw a 226-percent hike in new Covid patients and a 185-percent increase in coronavirus-lined death over the last week, according to the health bulletin of the government.
“The prevailing situation is worrying for us,” Nazmul Islam, spokesperson of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said it in a virtual bulletin on Wednesday.
He said sample tests increased by 27 percent and 34,405 cases were found positive for the virus during the seven day period.
Around 10,000 more patients were identified in the last seven days than in the previous week, he said.
