The 29th 10-day book fair titled ‘New York Bangla Boi Mela 2020’ will kick off today online due to coronavirus pandemic.
Muktodhara Foundation is organising the book fair marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The fair will feature novels, collection of poems and other books written by both Bangladeshi and Indian writers.
Besides, it will also feature cultural shows including concerts and seminars.
Another attraction of the fair is the Muktodhara/GFB Sahitya Puraskar for contribution to Bengali language and literature.
The award, funded by Muktodhara adviser Golam Faruq Bhuiyan, is worth 2,500 US dollar.
In addition, an annual prize of 500 dollar is being launched this year for the best books published by Bengali writers who live abroad.
The book fair will conclude on September 27.
