A young man was killed and five others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy at Aoutapara village in Ishwardi upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Siddik Biswas, 45, son of late Sanu Biswas, a resident of the village.
Ishwardi police station officer-in-charge Biman Kumar Das said there has been a long standing enmity between Mahamud Kasai group and Alauddin Biswas group over establishing supremacy in the village.
Equipped with various weapons, including firearms, the two groups confronted each other around 9:30 pm on Saturday.
