Villagers of Sirajsingha under Jessore Sadar Upazila on Thursday blocked road and formed human chain in front of Jessore Press Club in protest against police torture at the village.
The villagers alleged that police went on rampage at Sirajsingha village under Jessore sadar upazila while they went there to arrest accused. ‘The police damaged several houses at the village’, the villagers said. They also tortured the village people, villagers added.
Mohith Kumar Nath, president, Jessore sadar upazila unit Awami League and Mehedi Hasan Mintu, general secretary, led the programme.
