The routine drive against the illegal use of pipeline gas is continuing in the port city recently.
The last drive against the unauthorized use of gas conducted in Mohora area in city by the Task force team of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Co Ltd where about 346 domestic gas connections were snapped for alleged use of pipeline gas illegally beyond the terms and conditions of the KGDCL .
These consumers were alleged for bypassing gas connections to commercial use from domestic consumer’s line , defying the approved plans of connections, outstanding bills and meter tempering, sources said.
Instantly the task force team realized more than one lakh taka as arrear bills.
The consumers of disconnected line will be sued as per Gas Act of 2010 . During the drive, officials of KGDCL Task force team and Manager of Vigilance Department alongwith CMP police members were present , sources said.
