There is few numbers of actors who love to work silently. Shamima Naznin is that type of actor. This noted actress is hailed from Gangpool village of Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj. She is the former student of the Department of Physics at University of Dhaka. The actress impressed the viewers playing the role of Subol’s mother in noted litterateur, drama and film director Humayun Ahmed’s movie Srabon Megher Din. Her outstanding acting in that movie attracted the viewers’ attention. She impresses the viewers by virtue of her acting till now.
Viewers easily accept Shamima Naznin for acting in those dramas which dialogues are in dialects of Mymensingh region as the actress is hailed from Kishoreganj. For this reason, when directors want to make any drama in dialects of Mymensingh, Shamima Naznin gets the opportunity to work to keep in mind the viewers’ choice. The actress also feels comfortable to act in these dramas.
Shamima Naznin informed that on the occasion of coming Eid-ul-Azha, she has already acted in two dramas directed by Mehedi Hasan Joni and Rubel Hasan. Therefore, she is also acting in Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz directed serial Family Crisis now. The actress is satisfied with her present position in media. She will be delighted if she continues acting regularly before her death, according to the actress.
Shamima Naznin said, “I am really satisfied with my present position in media. As acting is my profession, so I want to continue it before my death. I want to continue acting with full enjoyment. Sometimes, I do not get likeable scripts to work. But I have to work. Otherwise I will be detached from acting. So, despite not liking any script I have to work sometimes.”
Shamima Naznin also acted in some good movies. But she yet not gets any national award for acting. She has no pain in this regard. The actress said, “When time comes I will surely get the National Film Award Inshallah.”
Shamima Naznin started her acting career through Humayun Ahmed’s serial Sobuj Sathi. According to the actress, she was lucky to get the scope to work with noted actor Asaduzzaman Noor in that serial. Later, she also acted in the title role in Humayun Ahmed’s drama titled Bonur Golpo. Under Humayun Ahmed’s direction, besides acting in Srabon Megher Din, she also acted in Dui Duari and Ghetuputro Komola. Among four siblings, Shamima Naznin has two other sisters and one brother. Her only daughter Sudha is now studying in Class-IX. The actress also acted in Nargis Akhter’s movies Meghla Akash and Char Sotiner Ghor.
