View exchange meeting on MGSP held in MCC

Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Md. Ekramul Haque Titu said, “We are trying to come out of various problems and work for development by working together.” I would like to seek the cooperation of all so that we can make Mymensingh City Corporation useful to the people by implementing the dream with which the Prime Minister has gifted Mymensingh City Corporation.
Mayor Titu said this while addressing an exchange meeting titled feasibility study for Follow-up Future Urban Operation in Bangladesh under MGSP (Municipal Governance and Service Project) at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium on Sunday. The Mayor further said that the multi-faceted development of Mymensingh City Corporation will be possible through the MGSP project.
The mayor sought the cooperation of the MGSP project in the city’s waste management, income-generating activities and infrastructure development. He said the city corporation needs to become self-sufficient by taking income generating activities. Through this it is possible to make the tax imposed on the citizens more tolerable.
In addition, modernization of landfill station and construction of a new landfill station will lead to improvement in waste management. There is also a lot of work to be done to develop the infrastructure in the newly included wards.

Asif Hossain Don and other panel mayors and councilors, MGSP Consultant Engineer SM Mahibullah, Chief Engineer of City Corporation Md. Rafiqul Islam Miah and other officials.
Engineer Nurul Amin Kalam, General Secretary of District Citizens Movement, Dr. HA Golandaj Tara, General Secretary of BMA Mymensingh District Branch, Md. Babul Hossain, General Secretary of Mymensingh Press Club, along with other journalists, professionals, leaders of social and civic organizations and civil society representatives were present.
