Vietnam wants to expand existing trade with BD

Vietnam expressed their keen interest to develop existing trade with Bangladesh. They also expressed their commitment to reach the bilateral trade to $2 billion as committed by the two leaders of this two friendly countries at the meeting during the visit of Vietnam President to Bangladesh in March 2018. The Vietnam delegation also invited the Bangladesh RMG producers to invest in Vietnam and to expand bilateral trade in agro machinery, chemical, fertilizer, sea food etc sectors. These were discussed at a meeting on Thursday between a Vietnam delegation and the business leaders of FBCCI at its office in the city. Sheikh FazleFahim, Senior Vice-President of FBCCI chaired the meeting. Nguyen Phuc Nam, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam led the delegation. Tran Van Khoa, Ambassador of Vietnam to Bangladesh and the Embassy officials were also present.
Sheikh FazleFahim said that Bangladesh can be benifitted from the experience of the development story of Vietnam. Leaders of FBCCI emphasized on formation of a `joint working group’ in this regard. He also sought the technological assistance of Vietnam to develop the ‘FBCCI Private Institute’ which has recently founded to build demand driven human resources according to our present market of Bangladesh.
The Vietnam team leader Nguyen Phuc Nam invited the Bangladesh businessmen to invest in the RMG, textile etc. sectors in Vietnam. He mentioned about the incentives provided by Vietnam Government for the foreign investors. Nam urged the Bangladesh entrepreneurs to participate in the ‘Vietnam-Bangladesh Trade Fair’ to be held in Chittagong during March 2019. This fair will create new opportunities to utilize the untapped sectors between the two countries through mutual discussion.
Ambassador of Vietnam to Bangladesh Tran Van Khoa also spoke on the occasion.
FBCCI Directors Prabir Kumer Saha, Azizul Hoque, Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid and Md. Moniruzzaman also took part in the discussion.
