Vietnam has expressed its keen interest to establish direct air connectivity with Bangladesh.
Newly appointed Vietnamese envoy Pham Viet Chien expressed his country’s interest during a meeting with State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali at the secretariat recently, a press release said.
The state minister said after launching direct flights between Bangladesh and Vietnam will expand trade and commerce as well as connect both countries’ people.
He said, “Work is underway to upgrade the Cox’s Bazar airport with international standard, therefore, Vietnamese tourists can land directly to Cox’s Bazar from any country to enjoy the beauty of the world’s longest sea beach.”
The ambassador said Bangladesh has every potentiality to be a popular tourist destination with its natural beauty, rich culture, heritage and friendly people.
He also hopes in the future tourism and civil aviation sectors will play important role in developing the cooperation between the two countries.
