We had earlier reported that Vidya Balan will play Telugu actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) wife, Basavatarakam, in his biopic being directed by Krish.
And now, a report in a leading daily claims that the actress has learnt to play the harmonium for her role in the film. Composer Nitin Shankar, who trained Vidya to master the instrument spoke to the leading daily regarding the same. He said, “Her character plays the harmonium in two songs in the film and Vidya wanted to make it look convincing onscreen. I have known her family for a while now as they are all interested in music, so they reached out to me.”
The four training sessions were conducted in mid-july and Vidya, was already playing in scale in the last session. Nitin further added that Vidya is planning to continue learning music even after the shoot is wrapped up. He added saying, ” She plans to buy a harmonium. She also sings well. When I asked about her favourite song, she picked “Beeti Na Bitai Raina” from Parichay which reflects her knowledge of music.”
