The Walton Home Appliance Victory Day Rugby (Men’s & Women’s) Competition begins today at the Paltan Maidan.
Bangladesh Rugby Federation will arrange the two-day long rugby meet under auspices of RB Group.
Regarding the ensuing rugby competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) Mousum Ali, Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Assistant Director of National Sports Council Taslima Akhter, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Men’s Division) Md Sirajul Islam, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Women’s Division) Parvin Putul were present at the conference.
Freedom fighter Md Altab Hossain will inaugurate the competition as the chief guest.
A total of four teams will take part in the Men’s Division. They are: Bangladesh Army, Flame Boys Rugby Club, Imperial Rugby Club and Mirpur Rugby Club.
A number of four teams will participate in the Women’s Division. They are: Flame Rugby Club, Kabi Nazrul College Rugby Club, Central Women’s Rugby Club and Mirpur Rugby Club.
The Competition (Men’s & Women’s) will be held on single league basis. Top two teams from each division will get tickets of the finals. The finals will be held tomorrow.
