Daffodil International University (DIU) paid its debt of gratitude to the national heroes who laid down their lives for this noblest of the causes the Bangladesh have cherished placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar today to celebrate 45th Victory Day.
A team of Daffodil International led by Prof Dr Golam Maowla Choudhury, Controller of Examinations and Proctor of the university placed floral wreaths at the National Memorial. Liza Sharmin, Associate Professor of English Department, Sabbir Ahmed Polash, Deputy Director (Planning & Development) and other high officials accompanied with him.
Later on a colourful victory Rally was brought out from the campus premises and singing national anthem with proper lyrics which participated by the members of Different clubs of Daffodil International University. Beside these, Poetry recitation and dance drama was staged by the members of ‘All Star Daffodil’.
Prof Dr AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences were present as the chief guest while Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs) and Mahabub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management were present as the special guests.

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) celebrated the National Victory Day on 16 December-2016 with gala programs including placing wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar, discussion on the significance of the day and a colorful cultural program at its campus. Prominent researcher, freedom fighter and former State Minister for Information Prof Dr Abu Sayeed was present as the chief guest while Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir presided over the program.
The students and faculty members of GUB placed wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar in the early morning to pay glowing tributes to the martyrs.
At the discussion meeting, the speakers said, “Even after a long time of our victory, we have not yet achieved the desired goal of our victory for which the common people of this country participated in the Liberation War”. They emphasized the importance of the present generation to know about the glorious history of our Liberation War and today is the time to advance our nation with new dynamism. They expect that the students of the country can play a vital role in this regard. Chairmen from different departments, teachers, officials and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. Green University Treasurer and Director of Student Affairs Md. Shahid Ullah acted as the facilitator along with Assistant Director of Student Affairs, Dr Afzal Hossain Khan and Abdul Malek organized different activities for celebrating National Victory Day-2016. Presence of the Chairpersons of various departments, officials and a large number of students made the occasion an event of joy and happiness.

BSMRMU

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh (BSMRMU) observed “the 45th Victory Day 2015” of the country. Various programs were arranged at its temporary campus at Pallabi, in the capital on the day. Such as raising of the National Flag, Doa Mahfil and a debate competition on both 15 and 18 December in different subjects. The Students of two batches of LLM Maritime Law and Port and Shipping Management participated in the competition. The honourable Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral A S M Abdul Baten graced the occasion as chief guest and distributed the prizes among the winners of the competition. Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Faculty Members, Officers and Staff of the university were present in those programs. The Vice-Chancellor expressed praiseworthy for the gradual development of the country as well as the university.

EU

Eastern University (EU) celebrated Victory Day at EU Seminar Hall, Dhanmondi in the capital recently. Lt General M Harun-Ar-Rashid, Bir Pratik (Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army was present as the Chief Guest, while Abul Khair Chowdhury, Former Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of EU graced the occasion with his presence as the special guest.
The program started with national anthem followed by a welcoming speech by Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro-VC of Eastern University. After that, Abul Khair Chowdhury firstly remembered the valiant sons and daughters of the soil, who made their supreme sacrifices for the birth of Bangladesh and prayed for their divine souls. He told that 16th December, it’s the history of the soul of Bengali nation even the existence. The Chief Guest Lt General Rashid shared how general people participated in the liberation war of Bangladesh. He requests to young generation to cherish the spirit of the liberation earned through the blood of 3 million people.
The inaugural session of the program ended with a closing note from Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice chancellor of Eastern University. After that, the cultural session started led by the EU Bondhusava. The cultural session comprised a variety of performances. There was some dance performances on the ground of liberation war and patriotism. A standup comedy, recitation and magic were performed by the students of the university, which represented various aspects of the liberation war and made the audience emotional. There were a series of patriotic songs. Treasurer, Deans, Registrar, Chairpersons, Controller of Exam, Directors, faculty members, officers and staff along with a large number of students were present at the program.
