The Walton Home Appliance Victory Day Handball (Men’s & Women’s) Tournament begins today at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Bangladesh Handball Federation will arrange the handball meet under auspices of RB Group.
A total of three teams will take part in the Men’s Division. They are: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar.
A number of three teams will participate in the Women’s Division. They are: Bangladesh Ansar, BJMC and Bangladesh Police.
To mark the ensuing handball competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Nurul Islam, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Selim Mia and Secretary of the National Sports Council Shivnath Roy were present at the conference.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 2,21,800 while RB Group, the sponsor of the meet will give Tk 2,00,000 to Bangladesh Handball Federation and the Federation will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
The first phase of the meet (Men’s & Women’s) will be held on single league basis. The top two teams from each division will play in the finals. The finals will be held on December 18.
Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will inaugurate the meet today as the chief guest while Head of Marketing of RB Group Lokman Hossain Akash will be present with him as the special guest.
