Bangladesh missions abroad celebrated the 48th Victory Day on Sunday in a befitting manner.
According to press releases from different missions, the embassies and high commissions chalked out elaborate programmes, including hoisting of Bangladesh national flag and playing of its national anthem in the morning.
The Victory Day messages of the President, prime minister, foreign minister and state minister for foreign affairs were read out.
In Washington D.C, a two-day celebration of the glorious victory day began Sunday at Bangladesh embassy in Washington amid patriotic zeal and enthusiasm.
The celebration started with hoisting of national flag and the playing of national anthem on the embassy premises with a renewed pledge to build ‘Golden Bangla’ imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Mohammad Ziauddin hoisted the national flag. The Ambassador accompanied by the officers and employees placed wreath at the bust of the Father of the Nation.
In Seoul, the 48th great victory day was celebrated at Bangladesh Embassy premises in Seoul. The national flag was hoisted at the embassy amid playing national anthem. Special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of all the martyrs of the liberation war and prosperity and development of the country during that time.
In the Philippines, the great victory celebration was begun amid hoisting national flag at the Bangladesh Embassy in the morning.
In Australia (Canberra), the victory day was celebrated at Bangladesh High Commission at Canberra with due solemnity.
In Istanbul, the victory day was celebrated participating with expatriate Bangladeshis at Bangladesh consulate General office in Istanbul highlighting the historic background and significance of the day.
In the Netherlands, the 48th victory day was celebrated with due solemnity and festivity in the embassy premises.
