A case has been filed against mother whose two children were found dead in a house in city’s Goran area.
After the case, the injured woman also shown arrested in the hospital.
Mozzamel Haque Biplob, father of the two victim children, filed the case accusing his wife Akterunnesa Popy with Khilgaon Police Station on Saturday night for allegedly killing his two
daughters, said Mashiur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of the police station.
Meanwhile, Popy is currently being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with serious burn injuries from a suspected suicide attempt.
Relative’s sources said that Popy set herself on fire after killing her daughters — Alvi and Jannatul as she had been struggling financially because her husband could not bear the total expenses of the family.
Earlier on March 7, police recovered the throat-slit bodies of Jannat and Alvi from a house in Dhaka’s Goran area.
