BSS, Dhaka :

Although the government has acquired the land six years ago in the capital, a victim on Saturday claimed that he didn’t get the compensation against his land.
Prasad Chandra Biswas, a victim of Hatirjheel land acquisition project, called upon the authorities concerned to pay the outstanding compensation immediately while many others already received their compensation.
The victim Prasad Chandra Biswas, son of late Kanailal Biswas, of Kalakoir village under Basan union of Gazipur district, said this at a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here on Saturday morning. “Although the government has acquired his 1.22 acre land under Hatirjheel project on 2007-08, he is yet to get the compensation of his land after six years”, said Prasad Chandra. He, however, alleged that a section of officials at the office of the deputy commissioner of Dhaka were harassing him while he was trying to realize the compensation.
Even the High Court has given a ruling to the office of the deputy commissioner for seeking reply against the writ petition on land compensation lodged by the victim on 2012 but the deputy commissioner’s office yet to give any reply of the ruling by the court.
