Prof Dr Mohd Nor bin Nawawi, Vice-President / Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Planning and Global Engagement), University Selangor, Malaysia called on UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan at the latter’s office on Monday. Dr Nawawi was accompanied by Prof Dr Mokhtar Bin Abdullah, Vice-President / Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Industrial Engagement), University Selangor.
Prof Abdul Mannan welcomed the delegation and briefed them about the role and functions of UGC as well as overall scenario of higher education of Bangladesh.
The delegation said that University Selangor is willing to open its branch in Bangladesh to contribute higher education in the country. It may be mentioned here that University Selangor is a highly ranked public university in Malaysia. In this regard, they seek assistance and cooperation from UGC and Bangladesh Government.
UGC Chairman said that University Grants Commission always believes in internationalization of higher education but quality at tertiary level must be maintained. He assured the delegation of extending necessary cooperation from his side.
