The government has allocated 470 tonnes of food grain under special Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme for the fishermen of Kaptai Lake and Tanguar Haor area as catching fish is halted for a month.
Around 22 thousand fishermen families will be benefitted by the allocation said a press release.
Under the programme, 379.2 metric tonnes of food grains will be distributed to 18,960 fishermen families of Kaptai lake area in Rangamati and 90 metric tonnes to 3000 families of Tanguar Haor area in Sunamganj district.
