Housing and Public Works Minister Engr Mosharraf Hossain on Saturday said that the government would set up a veterinary hospital in Dhaka.
He came up with the comments at the inauguration of two-day orientation programme of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) as the chief guest.
Mosharraf also said that the necessary lands would also be provided for setting up the hospital in the city’s Purbachol area under the supervision and management of CVASU.
He also said that the government would disburse loan among the farm owners at only 5 per cent interest rate for growth in the production of cattleheads in the country. He said the amount of food production has increased in the country in spite of manifold decrease of cultivable land in recent years.
