Veteran sports journo Badrul Huda Chy passes away

Veteran journalist and sports commentator Badrul Huda Chowdhury passed away at his Chittagong residence at 7 am on Sunday.
He was 84.
Huda, who had been suffering from old-age complications for long, left behind his wife, three sons and three daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He was born in 1930 at Mirsharai in Chittagong.
Huda started his career as sub-editor of the daily Azad in 1954. Later, he worked at several leading dailies of the country like Ittefaq, Sangbad, Inqilab, Purbodesh and Banglar Bani.
He served Bangladesh Betar as sports commentator in 1963 and also a newscaster. Besides, he worked for BTV with good reputation for 30 years.
He wrote two books on sports titled ‘Tobuo Cricket Bhalobasi’ and ‘Duti Bat Ekti Ball’.
Bangladesh Sports Commentator Forum (BSCF) and Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), condoled the death of Huda and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
